Day 24 Smoky Mountains

Easy down and up hill into Gatlinburg had two trail magic people today and met some awesome people. Felt like I was famous all day. Probably took like 50+ pictures with random people. For now I'm hiding in a hotel from this weather that might kill us!

Day 23 Smoky Mountains

Hiking too mt Collins and over clingmans dome which is 6655ft the highest point on the AT. I was expecting this view to be amazing but it was nothing special the forest was more amazing than anything. The forest was so thick and it felt like the forest was watching me all the way too the shelter. Or bears who knows. Probably army's of squirrels.

Day 22 Smoky Mountains

Long 19 mile hike too Derrick shelter. The hiking book is a complete lie and elevations are wrong so this day sucked. Caught back up to the group and everyone was super stoked to see me. Jeff and my brother are still ahead

Day 21 Smoky Mountains

Short day out of Fontana. Crossed the dam and the views were amazing. The uphill was no joke into the smokies. Again the views amazing and I stopped early at the first camp site. Lots of bear activity!

Day 20

This day started off at 5am and ended at 7pm. I hiked 22 miles into Fontana just to catch up to the group. I was super motivated and pushing myself just because I didn't want to get stuck in the group of fucking idiots behind me. Got into town and didn't wanna resupply because everything was over priced

Day 19

Woke up really early and forced myself to hike the hardest up hill half sick. Ended getting to a shelter mid afternoon. Bunch of annoying hikers showed up and I wanted to kill them all because they were all complete idiots and had no self respect for people and thought it was ok to be loud and annoying till 11pm so I hiked out at 5am because I couldn't get any sleep so technically this was my first night hike

Day 18

My 2nd zero day. Was planning in hiking out but I still had a fever and wasn't doing we'll. Nothing special just sat around and did nothing.

Day 17

Woke up super sick. Was being forced to hike out but ended up staying and I got super lucky because I started throwing up and shitting water for the next 3 days.

Day 16

Cold spring shelter too NOC  very long day some crazy down hills. I fell two times but didn't get hurt. It was really got and we ran low on water. Fun day and night in NOC. Plenty of people got drunk. Jeff, Jessica and Alex got drunk and we have some pretty funny videos for good memories.

Day 15

Hiked a long day from siler bald shelter too cold spring shelter. Some really amazing views and cool people.

Day 14

Hiked an easy 8 miles outside town to the first shelter. Apple throwing at tents and typical goofing off. Creepy kid that had a gun and was clearly on drugs

Day 13

Hiked into town staying at the budget inn. Hotel sucks but everything else rules. So many cool people and awesome food and free rides.

Day 12

Woke up with frozen clothes and my water filter not working because it was also frozen. All my wet clothes were also frozen. It was still super cold out and we had a solid 18 mile day ahead of us. Hiked a 4900 foot mountain it was amazing and this day ruled

Day 11

Woke up early and only went into standing Indian which was only 6 miles away all my clothes were wet and it was raining and freezing out. We were 4000 feet on a mountain and it started to snow we all packed into the shelter and it dropped to 15 degrees. Everything froze.

Day 10

It rained on our hike into NC I was going to go further but stopped at muskrat creep shelter and originally was going to go too standing Indian but it was super cold and wet. The shelter was full and I slept on the table under the shelter roof. Saw bears running around in the dark so people named me "bear burrito"

Day 9

Chilled in town till 1 and hiked 5miles to small shelter will be in North Carolina! 4 miles away!

Day 8

11 mile hike into town, ran out of water. fun night

Day 7

Woke up kinda late and it took amy a long time to get ready. Again I was waiting for the privy and some dude was taking his sweet time and I almost crapped my pants again. Jeff Amy and me started the hike off kinda late we heard word of a dead bear on the trail and we came across it. It was just a baby cub and some crazy chick jumped down the cliff and cut a claw off it. Her name is "bear claw" now.
Rough 16 mile hike day, got red bull and awesome trail magic.

Day 6

So today was actually amazing. The hike was really hard,  a crazy 12mile hike. I managed grouping with two awesome ladies.  Alex and Jessica, Both beautiful but sadly both have boyfriend ("creepy look"only they will understand this)  We played some awesome ice breakers and talked about some major personal and creepy/ awkward things. It's amazing how you hike 8 miles with someone and you can just open up and not care. We got into the shelter around 430 and continued to goof off. Found Kenny and "fucking majestic" chilling and we hung out and laughed are asses off about so much shit. "Fucking majestic"(Jeff) got his hair cut by Alex with tiny ass sizers.  I also made a burrito called the "butt blaster" with tuna, hot sauce, pepper jack cheese. Than "dad" wanted one so he paid me $10for one which rules because it really only costed me like $1. So other than that I'm laying here trying to sleep and amy is sleeping next to me freaking out about mice crawling around and I can't stop laughing at her. It's gunna be a long night and a long 16 mile hike tomorrow. Goooooood night.
Linda and Bruce trail magic ruled

Day 5

woke up and my ankle didn't hurt and I was feeling alright. I almost crapped my pants on the way down the hill looking for a spot to take a dump it sucked. We woke up around 6 and while we packed up camp we watched the sun come up, today was the first day I wasn't freezing my ass off in the morning. As usual we got out before everyone towards blood mountain. It was 6 miles too blood mountain and then 1 mile up and 1 mile down and then 3 miles to camp. Me and amy knocked out the first 6 miles very quick and a lot of it was in and out of valleys. The wind always picks up in valleys and we kept stopping and putting more layers on and off. We already started 0.2miles of blood mountain without even knowing and than it started to get so hard. I have never walked up 0.8 miles of steep mountain in my entire life and it was insane when we got to the top. It was breath taking. 4500 feet up was way higher than I was thinking. We made the decent down and it was all rocks and wet from the rain two days ago. We rushed the 3 miles into the hostel and ate pizza and hot dogs like animals and settled in and started resupplying. I cut a lot of weight from my pack and got some awesome food. For now I'm going to abuse the wifi in this hostel and watch the new game of thrones and pass out I have a long 13 miles tomorrow and after the first hot shower I feel ready for sleep like no other. Also have some cool cat friends outside the hostel.

Day 4

So some awesome chick had a portable battery charger and I got 30% on my phone. So here's day 4 as I lay in my tent and watch the sun go down behind the mountains. The day started off kinda late because I knew it was going to be easy. During the night tho in the shelter some random dude sat at the table around 3am and drank some beers and creeped on people while we all slept. No one knows who he was. But anyway I got started around 8:15 and I kid you not it was chilly out with very heavy winds and today's entire trail was all in valleys and between mountains and around them/over them. The sun was out for the first time and we didn't have the white cloud haze above us like we normally do.  I ended up hiking in my rain jacket just to keep my nips from falling off. But about 30mins in I saw my first bear. It was a decent sized black bear about 40 feet up the trail and it saw me and bolted for the woods. I didn't really think much of it and kept on going. Amy was super jealous because she really wants to see a bear for some weird reason. Today's views were beyond amazing and kept getting better and better. Ended up hiking 8 miles to the top of this mountain and sitting on this rock ledge for 4 hours enjoying the sun. Walter white(Garry)went ahead and started towards Neal gap which makes him 9miles ahead of us but we should catch up. Hiked with him till the ledge and exchanged info and wished him luck on blood mountain.  Hiked down hill 1.7miles and made it into camp. Met this awesome dude named "fuckkin majestic" he chilled at the camp fire and always has good laughs. He also ate a cockroach at the camp fire.. Resting kinda early tonight my right foot ankle hurts I rolled it a few times. Hopefully I wake up not in pain because I'm about to hike the biggest mountain yet.

Day 3

Rained all night, tony slept on the picnic table and is covered in water. For now it looks like we are all taking a zero day to avoid getting wet and ruining our blood mountain experience. During the day we had over 70+ hikers come in soaking wet. I have never been packed in such a small area with so many wet and smelly people. Met some cool people. This dude Bryan who had a 16 pound pack and dropped some cool knowledge on me. Phones low on battery might miss out on writing up day 4.  it's gunna be another easy day tomorrow so that's always cool.

Day 2

Started off early(630am), didn't get any sleep. Managed to get ahead of people and start the rough trek ahead of me. Only had 8miles but all of it was heavy ups and downs. Half way in some people started to pass me but after taking plenty of rests and resting my feet in the freezing river I made the 3.5 hike to gooch shelter and managed to be the 3rd person to arrive. Amy Kenny and Walter white, and tony  seem to be the solid group that I could see sticking together but you never know. We are expecting a lot of rain tonight and might be taking a zero day. The shelter is packed and we have 40+ people here in tents

Day 1

The day started off great, it was in the low 30s and not raining. My body was numb so I didn't feel any pain. Managed to hike too hawk shelter and get a spot in the shelter beating a majority of hikers.(roughly 9miles) Started to meet some really cool people and settle into the shelter. (Names of people : Walter white, Amy, tony, little guy, jude(cheesy pants) and many more.)
